Oppor­tu­ni­ty awaits you at St Marys Com­mu­ni­ty Health Cen­tre. As Direc­tor of Nurs­ing, you:

  • Will be part of the inno­v­a­tive Pri­ma­ry Health North lead­er­ship team cater­ing for health care needs of Tas­ma­ni­ans in com­mu­ni­ty and rur­al and remote settings.
  • Get to work with an expe­ri­enced and sup­port­ive local team of keen pro­fes­sion­als pro­vid­ing wholis­tic care at St Marys Com­mu­ni­ty Health Centre.
  • Have the oppor­tu­ni­ty to pos­i­tive­ly influ­ence care across the entire pri­ma­ry health remit – clin­ics, sub­a­cute inpa­tient, emer­gency and res­i­den­tial care.

The Role:

  • Lead and man­age a range of inpa­tien­t/res­i­den­tial/­com­mu­ni­ty-based ser­vices pro­vid­ed from the rel­e­vant rur­al health facil­i­ty includ­ing the man­age­ment of resources; and under­take a lead­er­ship role in ensur­ing that clin­i­cal and sup­port services/​infrastructure meet qual­i­ty and safe­ty stan­dards and are in accor­dance with Agency per­for­mance objec­tives and com­mu­ni­ty expectations.
  • Facil­i­tate the devel­op­ment and main­te­nance of strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion links with­in the Agency and with oth­er gov­ern­ment and non-gov­ern­ment agen­cies, com­mu­ni­ty health ser­vice providers and oth­er key groups and con­sumers regard­ing health ser­vice priorities.

Details of appointment:

Per­ma­nent full time day work­er posi­tion, work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you can join the team.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $138,478 per annum. Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023 and Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Inter­im Agree­ment 2013

Allowances:

  • You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible.
  • Pay­ment of $15,000 staged over three years is avail­able for Nurs­es and Mid­wives who move to Tas­ma­nia from inter­state and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relo­ca­tion allowance already available.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available:

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type.
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 4%.

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates:

  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able up to $15,000 for eli­gi­ble appointees. 
  • Pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and accel­er­at­ed pathways.
  • Excel­lent leave ben­e­fits: 20 days annu­al leave (pro rata), 20 days per­son­al leave (pro rata), and study assis­tance leave if eligible.
  • Fit­ness Pass­port – You, and your fam­i­ly can access 40+ fit­ness facil­i­ties across Tas­ma­nia for just $13.95 per week per per­son, or $25.95 for a family.

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty: Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria.

  • Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse.

*Registration/​licences that are essen­tial require­ments of this role must remain cur­rent and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the sta­tus of these may be checked at any time dur­ing employ­ment. It is the employee’s respon­si­bil­i­ty to ensure that registration/​licences remain cur­rent and to advise the Employ­er if their cir­cum­stances change. This includes noti­fy­ing the Employ­er if a registration/​licence is revoked, can­celled or has its con­di­tions altered.
