The Team:

In Pri­ma­ry Health North (PHN) we are com­mit­ted to trans­form­ing health­care deliv­ery by pro­vid­ing high-qual­i­ty, com­pas­sion­ate, and patient-cen­tred care in the com­fort of patients’ homes or close to their com­mu­ni­ties. As part of Hos­pi­tals North, our ser­vices use the Com­pas­sion’, Account­abil­i­ty’, Respect’ and Excel­lence’ (CARE) val­ues to under­pin how we work togeth­er, pro­vide care and sup­port patients, staff and com­mu­ni­ty every day. Camp­bell Town Hos­pi­tal and Com­mu­ni­ty Health Ser­vice (CTHCS) sit­u­at­ed in the North­ern Mid­lands just 45 min­utes from Launce­s­ton, is one of eight dis­trict hos­pi­tals in Pri­ma­ry Health North (PHN). As part of Hos­pi­tals North, PHN and CTHCS work close­ly with Launce­s­ton Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, our main refer­ral hos­pi­tal, to enable care at the right time and in the right place for clients in our local and the wider community.

As Direc­tor of Nurs­ing, you:

  • Will be part of the inno­v­a­tive Pri­ma­ry Health North lead­er­ship team cater­ing for health care needs of Tas­ma­ni­ans in com­mu­ni­ty and rur­al and remote settings.
  • Work with and lead an expe­ri­enced and sup­port­ive local team of keen pro­fes­sion­als pro­vid­ing wholis­tic care to res­i­den­tial aged care, inpa­tient, emer­gency, com­mu­ni­ty nurs­ing and com­mu­ni­ty ser­vices and day cen­tre clients access­ing CTHCS
  • Will play a key role in lead­ing imple­men­ta­tion of Aged Care reforms across CTHCS and PHN and will have an oppor­tu­ni­ty to pos­i­tive­ly influ­ence care deliv­ery across the service.

Details of appointment:

Per­ma­nent, full time, day work­er posi­tion, work­ing 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you can join our team.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $138,478 per annum. Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Region­al Allowances:

  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 4

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates:

  • Pay­ment of $15,000 staged over three years is avail­able for Nurs­es and Mid­wives who move to Tas­ma­nia from inter­state and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relo­ca­tion allowance already available.
  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able up to $15,000 for eli­gi­ble appointees from over­seas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. 
  • Pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and accel­er­at­ed pathways.
  • A range of leave enti­tle­ments, includ­ing study leave and Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Support.
  • Fit­ness Pass­port – You, and your fam­i­ly can access 40+ fit­ness facil­i­ties across Tas­ma­nia for just $13.95 per week per per­son, or $25.95 for a family.
