Home to approx­i­mate­ly 2000 Yarnan­gu (Ngaany­at­jar­ra peo­ple) across 11 unique com­mu­ni­ties, our coun­cil is ded­i­cat­ed to pre­serv­ing and cel­e­brat­ing our rich her­itage span­ning over 10,000 years and 250,000 square kilometres.

Estab­lished in 1981, the Ngaany­at­jar­ra Coun­cil Group (NCG) rep­re­sents the inter­ests of the Ngaany­at­jar­ra Peo­ple across the 11 com­mu­ni­ties in the Cen­tral Desert region of West­ern Aus­tralia. Employ­ing in excess of 450 peo­ple, NCG pro­vides a wide range of ser­vices, includ­ing health, util­i­ties, con­struc­tion, employ­ment, com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment, shops, road­hous­es, art cen­tres and land ser­vices. It is one of the largest and most suc­cess­ful Indige­nous organ­i­sa­tions in the country.

The Oppor­tu­ni­ty:
This is a unique and reward­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty to join the Ngaany­at­jar­ra Coun­cil Group as a Male Pri­ma­ry Health Care Nurse to con­duct health assess­ments for men’s health to com­mu­ni­ty mem­bers and coor­di­nate fol­low-up treat­ment as need­ed. Par­tic­i­pate in sex­u­al health screen­ing and edu­ca­tion pro­grams tar­get­ed toward male pop­u­la­tions, while main­tain­ing the ser­vice deliv­ery of exist­ing men’s health ini­tia­tives and pro­mo­tions. Engage in Con­tin­u­ous Qual­i­ty Improve­ment activ­i­ties to ensure high stan­dards of care. Facil­i­tate health edu­ca­tion ses­sions cov­er­ing top­ics like men’s sex­u­al health, chron­ic dis­ease, and healthy liv­ing, empow­er­ing indi­vid­u­als to make informed health decisions.

About You:
You are a ded­i­cat­ed and expe­ri­enced Pri­ma­ry Health Care Nurse with a pas­sion for work­ing in diverse and remote set­tings. With a min­i­mum of 2 years’ expe­ri­ence work­ing in a Men’s Health Pogram. You bring a wealth of knowl­edge and a proac­tive approach to deliv­er­ing high-qual­i­ty health care. Your cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse reflects your com­mit­ment to pro­fes­sion­al standards.

Your high­ly devel­oped inter­per­son­al and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills enable you to work effec­tive­ly with­in a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary team, par­tic­u­lar­ly in cul­tur­al­ly diverse and lan­guage-rich set­tings. You have a strong under­stand­ing of Abo­rig­i­nal health issues and are adept at apply­ing the prin­ci­ples of Pri­ma­ry Health Care with­in com­plex remote prac­tice environments.

You are known for your abil­i­ty to man­age and pro­mote change, your ded­i­ca­tion to Qual­i­ty Improve­ment and evi­dence-based prac­tice, and your com­mit­ment to ongo­ing pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment. Pro­fi­cient in a range of infor­ma­tion tech­nolo­gies, you are well-equipped to han­dle patient infor­ma­tion and data man­age­ment sys­tems. Your enthu­si­asm for mak­ing a mean­ing­ful impact in a vibrant and cul­tur­al­ly sig­nif­i­cant com­mu­ni­ty makes you an ide­al fit for this position.
