You’ll play a crit­i­cal role in improv­ing the iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, screen­ing, treat­ment, and pre­ven­tion of tra­choma and trichi­a­sis among Indige­nous Aus­tralians, con­tribut­ing to the elim­i­na­tion of tra­choma as a pub­lic health issue. Respon­si­bil­i­ties also include dis­ease sur­veil­lance, par­tic­i­pa­tion in an on-call ros­ter, and oth­er pub­lic health nurs­ing duties as needed. 

The role requires a cur­rent NT-recog­nised vac­ci­na­tion cer­tifi­cate (or abil­i­ty to obtain), a man­u­al NT driver’s license, and com­ple­tion of a 4WD train­ing course (or will­ing­ness to com­plete). Trav­el by air and 4WD to remote com­mu­ni­ties is an essen­tial part of the job, includ­ing reg­u­lar stays of up to a week in remote areas.
