About the role

The Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er plays a key role in our busy and fast-paced pri­ma­ry health care clin­ic, man­ag­ing triage and treat­ment for patients. This role involves pro­vid­ing advanced clin­i­cal care, assess­ing and diag­nos­ing patients, pre­scrib­ing med­ica­tions, and devel­op­ing treat­ment plans in accor­dance with the BRAMS Mod­el of Care. The Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er will work col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with the mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team to deliv­er cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive, patient-cen­tered care, ensur­ing time­ly and effec­tive treat­ment for the community.

About you

To be suc­cess­ful in this role, you must address the fol­low­ing selec­tion criteria:

  • AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion as a Reg­is­tered Nurse with endorse­ment as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • Advanced clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence in the assess­ment and treat­ment of ill­ness and injury and health pro­mo­tion rel­e­vant to the role and with­in indi­vid­ual scope of practice.
  • Demon­strat­ed clin­i­cal prob­lem solv­ing skills includ­ing con­cep­tu­al and ana­lyt­i­cal ability.
  • Excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills with a demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to man­age inter­nal and exter­nal rela­tion­ships in a com­plex organ­i­sa­tion­al con­text, includ­ing cross-cul­tur­al settings. 
  • Abil­i­ty to han­dle sen­si­tive issues with tact, diplo­ma­cy, and confidentiality.
  • Pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence with­in an Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled Health Service.
