The Role:

The West Coast Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal is seek­ing a ded­i­cat­ed and expe­ri­enced Nurse Unit Man­ag­er to join their team.

The Nurse Unit Manager:

  • Pro­vides lead­er­ship, over­sight and man­age­ment of the activ­i­ties with­in the West Coast Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal (WCDH), includ­ing emer­gency first response, inpa­tient, and Res­i­den­tial Aged Care and the Rose­bery Com­mu­ni­ty Health Cen­tre, as well as home care ser­vices, the adult day cen­tre, and com­mu­ni­ty nursing.
  • Sup­ports the effi­cient and effec­tive pro­vi­sion of care, based on Pri­ma­ry Health Care stan­dards and best prac­tice prin­ci­ples, with­in a col­lab­o­ra­tive and mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary frame­work by coor­di­nat­ing the clin­i­cal, man­age­ment, edu­ca­tion and nurs­ing func­tions with­in WCDH and RCHC
  • Leads and man­ages the coor­di­na­tion of over­all patient, res­i­dent and client care and is respon­si­ble for man­ag­ing the allo­cat­ed human, mate­r­i­al and finan­cial resources for ser­vice deliv­ery with­in the WCDH and RCHC.

Addi­tion­al­ly, it pro­vides com­mu­ni­ty health, men­tal health, and pri­ma­ry health­care ser­vices to the Tas­man­ian com­mu­ni­ty through more than 300 sites.

Details of appoint­ment:

Per­ma­nent, full time, day work­er (with on-call) posi­tion, work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing from March 2025.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $130,203 — $136,295 per annum. Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10%

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates 

  • Pay­ment of $15,000 staged over three years is avail­able for Nurs­es and Mid­wives who move to Tas­ma­nia from inter­state and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relo­ca­tion allowance already available.
  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able up to $15,000 for eli­gi­ble appointees from over­seas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate. 
  • Pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and accel­er­at­ed pathways.
  • A range of leave enti­tle­ments, includ­ing study leave and Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Support.
  • Fit­ness Pass­port – You, and your fam­i­ly can access 40+ fit­ness facil­i­ties across Tas­ma­nia for just $13.95 per week per per­son, or $25.95 for a family.

  • Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse
  • Cur­rent Reg­is­tra­tion to Work with Vul­ner­a­ble People
