We’re looking for an experienced and dedicated Podiatrist to support clients under the Commonwealth Home Support Program (CHSP) in East Arnhem Land.

Full-time or Part-time

  • Sup­port client well­ness and inde­pen­dence in remote communities.
  • Work along­side a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team in a cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive role.
  • Com­pet­i­tive salary of $106,953 — $112,850 per annum + superannuation

This role focus­es on help­ing peo­ple stay inde­pen­dent, con­nect­ed to their com­mu­ni­ty, and liv­ing safe­ly at home.

This role will see you trav­el every sec­ond week to dif­fer­ent Miwatj com­mu­ni­ties, pro­vid­ing clin­i­cal care, assess­ments, and cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate treat­ments. It’s a great oppor­tu­ni­ty to work both inde­pen­dent­ly and as part of a sup­port­ive team, with a strong focus on qual­i­ty care and safe­ty. This is Full time, Fixed – Term Role until 30 June 2027.

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will have access to a range of ben­e­fits, including:

  • Com­pet­i­tive salary of $106,953 — $112,850 per annum + superannuation
  • Abil­i­ty to Salary Pack­age up to $15,900pa plus a fur­ther $2,650pa on Meals and Entertainment
  • Dar­win or Nhu­lun­buy based office (accom­mo­da­tion is not provided)

Suc­cess­ful can­di­dates may be eli­gi­ble for the NT Thrive Relo­ca­tion Grant – finan­cial sup­port of up to $10,000 to assist with mov­ing, hous­ing, well­be­ing, cul­tur­al train­ing, short cours­es and pro­fes­sion­al upskilling when relo­cat­ing to the North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry. About Miwatj

Miwatj Health is an inde­pen­dent Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty-Con­trolled Health Ser­vice. Estab­lished in 1992, we’re com­mit­ted to secur­ing qual­i­ty health care ser­vices across the East Arn­hem and enabling Yolŋu pow­ered com­mu­ni­ty health and well­be­ing. Miwatj pro­vides cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate, com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care to over 6,000 remote Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander res­i­dents across 3 East Arn­hem wards. With a Head Office in Nhu­lun­buy, Miwatj also man­ages a Cor­po­rate Office in Dar­win, 7 fixed clin­ics across the East Arn­hem region, and ded­i­cat­ed out­reach teams who trav­el to 3 addi­tion­al locations.

Essen­tial Requirements

The ide­al can­di­date will have a strong com­mit­ment to Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trol and self-deter­mi­na­tion, along with an under­stand­ing of the chal­lenges faced by Yolŋu peo­ple in remote areas. A ter­tiary qual­i­fi­ca­tion in Podi­a­try with cur­rent AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion and a min­i­mum of three years of clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence is essen­tial. Appli­cants should demon­strate exper­tise in man­ag­ing acute and chron­ic foot con­di­tions, knowl­edge of pri­ma­ry health and aged care con­texts, and prin­ci­ples of chron­ic dis­ease pre­ven­tion. Suc­cess in this role requires col­lab­o­ra­tive abil­i­ties with­in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary envi­ron­ment, effec­tive com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, and the abil­i­ty to trav­el reg­u­lar­ly with­in the Miwatj region.
