RAN - Visiting Specialist Services

Mala’la Health Service is seeking an experienced Remote Area Nurse to coordinate and assist in the provision of timely, culturally appropriate, condition specific care through Visiting and Specialist Services.
The position is to be the main point of contact for the organisation of Specialist Services including Case Conference, Telehealth and Outreach Visits.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within the Visiting Specialist Services Program in partnership with the multi-disciplinary team to provide high quality prevention and treatment
- Identify and prioritise clients’ needs by working collaboratively with other Health Programs, Community Health Workers and the broader Community
- Provide a culturally safe, competent and comprehensive care
- Develop and maintain a strong referral pathway
- Work with the broader team including external agencies

About Mala’la
Mala’la Health Service is a respected & accredited Aboriginal Corporation providing services to the seaside community of Maningrida (520 km east of Darwin), with a population of approximately 3,000 people. These services include Primary Health Care, Aged & Community Care, Family & Community Wellness, Drugs & Alcohol Services. Mala’la Health Service provides Primary Health Care services to Maningrida and surrounding homelands under a Community Control model.
Essential Requirements
The role will see you working in a remote Aboriginal Community. All applicants must have an understanding of, and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control, self-determination, and the issues faced by Aboriginal people living in remote settings.
To apply, please ensure that you have the following:
- Current AHPRA Registration and Practicing Certificate as a Registered Nurse
- Current Maternity or Remote Emergency Care Certificate
- Advance Life Support Certificate
- Current accredited Immunisation Certificate (recognised in the NT)
- Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent)
- Manual Driver’s License
- Satisfactory Criminal History Check
- Current NT Working with Children Clearance OCHRE card
- Min 5 years broad nursing experience post registration and 3 years working in a primary health related field in a remote context, with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings (including the ability to triage, work independently and participate in emergency calls and First Response)
