The Flinders Island Multi-Purpose Centre comprises nine aged care beds, five acute beds, an Outpatient and Emergency service, physiotherapy, x-ray, podiatry/footcare and visiting services.

The Reg­is­tered Nurse:

Strength­ens health out­comes through the pro­vi­sion of safe qual­i­ty, clin­i­cal­ly appro­pri­ate nurs­ing care in part­ner­ship with patients/​clients, their fam­i­lies and oth­er health professionals.

You will need:

  • A pas­sion for great rur­al and remote healthcare
  • Work­ing knowl­edge or the will­ing­ness to learn aged care stan­dards and care delivery
  • A will­ing­ness to expe­ri­ence and thrive in remote com­mu­ni­ty with remote challenges

  • The Flinders Island Mul­ti-Pur­pose Cen­tre com­pris­es nine aged care beds, five acute beds, an Out­pa­tient and Emer­gency ser­vice, phys­io­ther­a­py, x‑ray, podiatry/​footcare and vis­it­ing services.
  • It is one of 8 dis­trict hos­pi­tals work­ing togeth­er to form part of pri­ma­ry health north Tasmania
  • The FIM­PC offers health ser­vices to the island com­mu­ni­ty of approx­i­mate­ly 900 peo­ple util­is­ing the RFDS retrieval for ter­tiary hos­pi­tal needs to the Launce­s­ton General.

Details of appointment:

Mul­ti­ple per­ma­nent, full time and part time shift work­er posi­tions work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you are avail­able to join the team.

*notwith­stand­ing hours to be nego­ti­at­ed with the suc­cess­ful applicant.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $78,179 to $105,995 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employ­er 11.5% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­man­ian State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

Allowances:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

  • Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,445 — $105,995 is sub­ject to suc­cess­ful appli­ca­tion for pro­gres­sion to Grade 4
  • Pay­ment of $15,000 staged over three years is avail­able for Nurs­es and Mid­wives who move to Tas­ma­nia from inter­state and remain employed full time for three years or more, on top of relo­ca­tion allowance already available.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 

Region­al Allowances: 

  • Dis­trict Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates:

  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able for eli­gi­ble appointees. 
  • Pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and accel­er­at­ed pathways.
  • Excel­lent leave ben­e­fits: 20 days annu­al leave (pro rata), 20 days per­son­al leave (pro rata), and study assis­tance leave if eligible.
  • Fit­ness Pass­port – You, and your fam­i­ly can access 40+ fit­ness facil­i­ties across Tas­ma­nia for just $13.95 per week per per­son, or $25.95 for a family.

  • Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse

*Registration/​licences that are essen­tial require­ments of this role must remain cur­rent and valid at all times whilst employed in this role and the sta­tus of these may be checked at any time dur­ing employ­ment.
