About the role:

The role of the Sex­u­al Health Nurse/​AHP — Point of care test­ing pro­gram is to sup­port the increase of sex­u­al health point of care test­ing in Con­gress ser­vices with the aim to reduce time to treat­ment, iden­ti­fi­ca­tion of con­tacts and reduce risk of poten­tial com­pli­ca­tions and clients lost to fol­low up.

This is a ser­vice deliv­ery posi­tion, with con­sid­er­able time spent on clin­i­cal activ­i­ties, both in the clin­ic and under­tak­ing point of care tests remotely.

These tasks are con­duct­ed under the direct super­vi­sion and men­tor­ing of the Sex­u­al Health Coor­di­na­tor to ensure best clin­i­cal prac­tice and build spe­cial­ist skills and knowl­edge with­in the Sex­u­al Health and Blood Borne Virus and Pub­lic Health Pro­gram context.

Who are we look­ing for?
Some­one to com­ple­ment our dynam­ic team with the fol­low­ing essen­tial requirements

  • Reg­is­tered or eli­gi­ble for reg­is­tra­tion as a health pro­fes­sion­al with the rel­e­vant board and knowl­edge of pri­or­i­ties in Abo­rig­i­nal pri­ma­ry health care and Sex­u­al Health and Blood Borne Virus­es in cen­tral Australia. 
  • Abil­i­ty to work effec­tive­ly in a small mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team and under super­vi­sion and direc­tion, util­is­ing time man­age­ment and pri­ori­ti­sa­tion skills to meet deadlines. 
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to use a com­put­er and its appli­ca­tions includ­ing Microsoft applications. 
  • Cur­rent dri­ver’s licence. 
  • Will­ing­ness to adhere to the Con­gress Smoke Free Work­place Policy. 
  • Will­ing­ness, abil­i­ty and appro­pri­ate lev­els of health and fit­ness to trav­el to and work from remote locations. 

*Total Effec­tive Pack­age includes base salary, dis­trict aUowance, super­an­nu­a­tion, leave load­ing, and esti­mat­ed tax sav­ing from salary pack­ag­ing options
