VR Gen­er­al Prac­ti­tion­er – Coastal WA Locum or Fixed-Term Role

This is a well-estab­lished, GP-led prac­tice locat­ed in the Gold­fields-Esper­ance region of West­ern Aus­tralia. The clin­ic is sup­port­ed by a team of expe­ri­enced GPs, full-time nurs­ing staff, and a ded­i­cat­ed prac­tice man­ag­er and admin­is­tra­tive team. The prac­tice runs on Best Prac­tice soft­ware and deliv­ers care in a well-organ­ised, com­mu­ni­ty-focused setting.

About the Role

As a VR GP, you will:

• Pro­vide excep­tion­al patient care across a broad scope of gen­er­al practice
• Work along­side 2 expe­ri­enced GPs in a sup­port­ive team environment
• Man­age chron­ic dis­ease, acute care, pre­ven­ta­tive health, and minor procedures
• Col­lab­o­rate with full-time nurs­ing and admin sup­port to ensure smooth patient flow
• Par­tic­i­pate in a week­end rota­tion (Sat­ur­day morn­ings only)
• Con­tribute to qual­i­ty improve­ment ini­tia­tives and patient-focused services 

Key Fea­tures of the Role

• Based in: Gold­fields-Esper­ance Region, WA
• Rate: $180 + GST per hour (per­cent­age negotiable)
• Hours: Mon­day to Fri­day, 8:00 am – 4:45 pm (1‑hour lunch)
• Sat­ur­day morn­ings: 9:00 am – 12:00 pm (on rota­tion with oth­er GPs)
• Prac­tice mod­el: Mixed billing
• Sup­port: Full-time nurs­ing, ded­i­cat­ed prac­tice man­ag­er, and admin team
• Soft­ware: Best Practice 
• Trav­el & Accom­mo­da­tion:
  • Return flights provided 
  • Car avail­able for duration
  • Accom­mo­da­tion arranged

Respon­si­bil­i­ties

• Deliv­er com­pre­hen­sive gen­er­al prac­tice ser­vices to patients of all ages
• Man­age acute pre­sen­ta­tions, chron­ic dis­ease, and pre­ven­ta­tive health
• Per­form minor pro­ce­dures and clin­i­cal assessments
• Work col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with­in a mul­ti-GP and nurs­ing team
• Com­mu­ni­cate clear­ly and pro­fes­sion­al­ly with patients and staff
• Con­tribute pos­i­tive­ly to the prac­tice cul­ture and local community

Selec­tion Cri­te­ria / Essen­tial Requirements

• Voca­tion­al Reg­is­tra­tion as a GP (VRGP)
• Cur­rent AHPRA Registration
• Expe­ri­ence in region­al or rur­al gen­er­al prac­tice desirable
• Strong inter­per­son­al and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
• Abil­i­ty to work inde­pen­dent­ly while con­tribut­ing to a team environment
