Josh Stafford

Josh is a remote area nurse who has worked in various positions across Queensland’s Cape York for the last 17 years, including in several key leadership roles. He is currently the Director of Nursing for Lockhart River and Coen — a role that sees him responsible for the day-to-day delivery of frontline healthcare to two Indigenous communities. He has also worked in emergency departments in NSW and has spent two years on the Isle of Man working in Coronary Care units.
Josh has postgraduate qualifications in mental health nursing, rural and remote healthcare, leadership, and management. He is currently studying to become a nurse practitioner at Flinders University.
Josh is a Fellow of CRANAplus and has played an active role in the organisation for many years including the national roundtable, conference panel discussions and contributions to policy discussions.
