Who is this resource for?

Any health student preparing for a placement in a rural, remote or isolated setting. Whilst this e‑Module addresses health student requirements, it is an ideal learning resource for those supporting students undertaking such placements, including educators, placement coordinators, preceptors and supervisors.

Why do students need to plan for self-care on placement

Clinical placements in remote and isolated settings provide exciting and challenging opportunities, both professionally and personally. They offer immersion in a new community, culture and environment. While exciting, remote and isolated placements can increase stress and challenge personal resilience.
