Remote Area Nurse Pam Wade encounters poverty, disease, car accidents and dangerous animals during her work in the Arnhem Land Aboriginal community of Maningrida.

I could never have imagined living and working in a place such as the Aboriginal community of Maningrida in remote Arnhem land.

It’s been an amazing, humbling and satisfying experience.

Through my work as a nurse at the clinic, I have met so many incredible people and learned so much about culture and a different way of life.

To think what I would have missed if I’d stayed in the southern states!
