About us

The Red Lily Health Board Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion (RLHB) is a region­al health ser­vice that aims to empow­er Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple in the West Arn­hem region, seek­ing to address health issues in the com­mu­ni­ty with the long-term vision of improv­ing health out­comes by estab­lish­ing a region­al Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty-con­trolled mod­el of ser­vice delivery.

About the Team

This posi­tion is part of the Red Lily Pri­ma­ry Health Care team that pro­vides remote pri­ma­ry health care in the West Arn­hem region (includ­ing home­lands). Our GPs are sup­port­ed by Remote Area Nurs­es and Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­ers, work­ing as a team in deliv­er­ing med­ical ser­vices, health screen­ing and chron­ic dis­ease man­age­ment outcomes.

About the role

You will be work­ing as part of a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary remote pri­ma­ry health care team, that man­age client care through­out the lifes­pan, treat ill­ness, pro­mote well­be­ing, pro­vide edu­ca­tion & train­ing, and encour­age com­mu­ni­ty health action to con­tribute to bet­ter health outcomes. 

Your role will involve the inte­gra­tion of Indige­nous cul­tur­al imper­a­tives in the deliv­ery of health­care in the con­text of an Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled Health Service.

Oppor­tu­ni­ty to work with­in a ded­i­cat­ed team to advance the health out­comes of the Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty in West Arn­hem region.

Our ide­al candidate

• Holds spe­cial­ist Gen­er­al Prac­ti­tion­er reg­is­tra­tion with Med­ical Board of Aus­tralia (AHPRA)
• Is a Fel­low of the Roy­al Aus­tralian Col­lege of Gen­er­al Prac­ti­tion­ers (RACGP) or the Aus­tralian Col­lege of Rur­al and Remote Med­i­cine (ACR­RM)
• Is an Aus­tralian cit­i­zen or per­ma­nent resident
• Has a broad-based pri­ma­ry care expe­ri­ence in a rural/​remote set­ting, ide­al­ly in Indige­nous health
• Is cul­tur­al­ly aware with knowl­edge of cur­rent issues impact­ing remote Indige­nous communities
• Accred­i­ta­tion or expe­ri­ence as a GP super­vi­sor is advantageous. “
