Part-time or Full-time Max­i­mum Term Con­tract
30 — 37.5 hours per week 

$120,451 — $129,343 per annum

About the role
The Acute Rheumat­ic Fever/​Rheumatic Heart Dis­ease (ARF/RHD) Pub­lic Health Nurse/​AHP will sup­port the ARF/RHD pro­gram to imple­ment cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive, evi­dence-based and sus­tain­able strate­gies that improve the ear­ly iden­ti­fi­ca­tion, man­age­ment and care coor­di­na­tion of ARF/RHD. This posi­tion will con­tribute towards the devel­op­ment of stan­dard­ised process­es for ARF/RHD man­age­ment includ­ing staff train­ing, clin­i­cal care, care coor­di­na­tion, data col­lec­tion and mon­i­tor­ing and eval­u­a­tion. It will sup­port ARF/RHD pro­gram staff and Con­gress clin­i­cal staff to embed these strate­gies as well as strate­gies to pre­vent ARF/RHD and increase the num­ber of peo­ple assessed for ARF/RHD. There is a large pub­lic health and edu­ca­tion com­po­nent to this role.

Who are we look­ing for?
Some­one to fit our team with the fol­low­ing essen­tial qual­i­fi­ca­tions & attributes:

  • AHPRA Reg­is­tered as a nurse, mid­wife or AHPRA
  • Demon­strat­ed recent clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence work­ing in rural/​remote PHC health care setting.
  • Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence in teach­ing, edu­ca­tion or men­tor­ing of clin­i­cal and pro­gram staff and/​or com­mu­ni­ty members. 
  • High­ly devel­oped abil­i­ty to work effec­tive­ly with­in a small mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team and pro­vide super­vi­sion and men­tor­ing to team members. 
  • Demon­strat­ed inde­pen­dent time man­age­ment skills to meet deadlines.
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to effec­tive­ly plan, deliv­er, eval­u­ate and report on projects and programs. 
  • Pro­fi­cient in Microsoft Suite with the abil­i­ty to cre­ate Pow­er­Point and Excel documents. 
  • Will­ing­ness, abil­i­ty and appro­pri­ate lev­els of health and fit­ness to trav­el to and work from remote locations.
