30 — 37.5 hours per week
$120,451 — $129,343 per annum
Total Effective Package* $148,139 — $158,234
About the role
The Acute Rheumatic Fever/Rheumatic Heart Disease (ARF/RHD) Public Health Nurse/AHP will support the ARF/RHD program to implement culturally responsive, evidence-based and sustainable strategies that improve the early identification, management and care coordination of ARF/RHD. This position will contribute towards the development of standardised processes for ARF/RHD management including staff training, clinical care, care coordination, data collection and monitoring and evaluation. It will support ARF/RHD program staff and Congress clinical staff to embed these strategies as well as strategies to prevent ARF/RHD and increase the number of people assessed for ARF/RHD. There is a large public health and education component to this role.
Who are we looking for?
Someone to fit our team with the following essential qualifications & attributes:
- AHPRA Registered as a nurse, midwife or AHPRA.
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience working in rural/remote PHC health care setting.
- Demonstrated experience in teaching, education or mentoring of clinical and program staff and/or community members.
- Highly developed ability to work effectively within a small multidisciplinary team and provide supervision and mentoring to team members.
- Demonstrated independent time management skills to meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively plan, deliver, evaluate and report on projects and programs.
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite with the ability to create PowerPoint and Excel documents.
- Willingness, ability and appropriate levels of health and fitness to travel to and work from remote locations.
