The Role:

As Asso­ciate Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (ANUM), you will work in part­ner­ship with the Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (NUM) to pro­vide clin­i­cal and oper­a­tional lead­er­ship across inpa­tient and emer­gency ser­vices at West Coast Dis­trict Hospital.

Key respon­si­bil­i­ties include:

  • Coor­di­nat­ing day-to-day patient care activ­i­ties and sup­port­ing patient flow.
  • Pro­vid­ing high-lev­el clin­i­cal knowl­edge and act­ing as a resource and role mod­el for staff.
  • Sup­port­ing the NUM in man­ag­ing staffing, resources, and ser­vice delivery.
  • Pro­mot­ing a col­lab­o­ra­tive, pro­fes­sion­al team envi­ron­ment and a pos­i­tive work­place culture.
  • Assist­ing with the devel­op­ment and review of pro­to­cols, guide­lines, and qual­i­ty improve­ment strategies.
  • Iden­ti­fy­ing and mit­i­gat­ing clin­i­cal risks and sup­port­ing safe­ty and com­pli­ance initiatives.

You will need:

  • Clin­i­cal Lead­er­ship: Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence in the rel­e­vant prac­tice area, with the abil­i­ty to pro­vide clin­i­cal lead­er­ship and work with min­i­mal supervision.
  • Oper­a­tional Insight: Under­stand­ing of patient flow, dis­charge plan­ning, and resource man­age­ment with­in a con­tem­po­rary health­care framework.
  • Team­work & Com­mu­ni­ca­tion: Advanced inter­per­son­al and com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills, with the abil­i­ty to lead and sup­port a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team.
  • Qual­i­ty & Risk Aware­ness: Strong under­stand­ing of clin­i­cal risk, safe­ty and qual­i­ty sys­tems, and the abil­i­ty to fos­ter a cul­ture of con­tin­u­ous improvement.

Details of appointment:

Per­ma­nent, full time and part time, shift work­er posi­tion, work­ing up to 76 hours per fortnight.

*notwith­stand­ing hours to be nego­ti­at­ed with the suc­cess­ful applicant.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary:

$106,570 to $112,440 pro rata, per annum. (Pro rata). Our Employ­er 12% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available:

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type (RN)

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing up to $9,010 for liv­ing expens­es + $2,650 for meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible.

Region­al Allowances

  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,797 per annum
  • 10% remote allowance
