The role of the Clinical Midwifery Consultant is to professionally and operationally support the Midwifery Director through the provision of professional and strategic leadership for Midwifery and Maternity Services for the South West Hospital and Health Service (SWHHS).

  • Remu­ner­a­tion: up to $164,212 p.a.

Your oppor­tu­ni­ty

The Clin­i­cal Mid­wifery Con­sul­tant will ensure Mid­wifery Ser­vices oper­ate at a high lev­el, ensur­ing the best out­comes for women and the fam­i­ly unit across the SWHHS. The pri­ma­ry respon­si­bil­i­ty of this role is to ensure that evi­dence based, con­tem­po­rary and loca­tion appro­pri­ate mater­ni­ty ser­vices are avail­able to women and their fam­i­lies across the service.

The Clin­i­cal Mid­wifery Con­sul­tant will ensure that pro­duc­tive and pro­fes­sion­al rela­tion­ships with local com­mu­ni­ty organ­i­sa­tions, as well as health ser­vice stake­hold­ers (eg. Roy­al Fly­ing Doc­tor Ser­vices, ter­tiary birthing facil­i­ties and vis­it­ing spe­cial­ist services).

The Clin­i­cal Mid­wifery Con­sul­tant is respon­si­ble for the pro­vi­sion of advice and guid­ance on ser­vices, work­force devel­op­ment, resources, edu­ca­tion and research with­in mater­ni­ty ser­vices, while ensur­ing the pro­vi­sion of inno­v­a­tive and cul­tur­al­ly safe evi­dence-based care for women and their fam­i­lies with­in the South West region.
