As Clin­i­cal Nurse Con­sul­tant — Kowanya­ma, you’ll lead care in one of Queens­land’s most cul­tur­al­ly rich and com­mu­ni­ty-dri­ven locations.

Kowanya­ma, mean­ing Place of Many Waters”, sits on the lands of the Kokober­ra, Kun­jen and Yir Yoront peo­ples on the west­ern Cape York Penin­su­la. It’s remote and about an hour by plane from city lights, it’s a place of big skies, red dirt roads, riv­er coun­try and com­mu­ni­ty spir­it. For the right per­son, with heart, resilience, cul­tur­al humil­i­ty, and a gen­uine com­mit­ment to walk along­side com­mu­ni­ty, this will be one of the most mean­ing­ful and reward­ing roles you’ll ever take on.

As the Clin­i­cal Nurse Con­sul­tant, you’ll pro­vide advanced clin­i­cal lead­er­ship, men­tor­ship, and sup­port to a small but ded­i­cat­ed team deliv­er­ing care in a proud and close-knit Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty. You’ll have the auton­o­my to make real deci­sions, lead change, and help strength­en mod­els of care that reflect Kowanya­ma’s cul­tur­al val­ues and local ways of know­ing, being and doing.
