The Role:

As Clin­i­cal Nurse Edu­ca­tor – Dis­trict Hos­pi­tals, you will play a key role in sup­port­ing the edu­ca­tion­al needs and pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment of the West Coast nurs­ing and non-clin­i­cal work­force. This includes:

  • Plan­ning, imple­ment­ing, and eval­u­at­ing edu­ca­tion pro­grams aligned with the needs of the Agency and Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal staff.
  • Pro­mot­ing evi­dence-based prac­tice and fos­ter­ing a cul­ture of research, inno­va­tion, and per­son-cen­tred care.
  • Work­ing with­in a prac­tice devel­op­ment frame­work to sup­port con­tin­u­ous improve­ment and con­sumer-direct­ed care.

You’ll col­lab­o­rate close­ly with the Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (NUM) and Direc­tor of Nurs­ing – West Coast (DON) to ensure edu­ca­tion strate­gies sup­port safe, high-qual­i­ty care across inpa­tient, emer­gency, res­i­den­tial aged care and com­mu­ni­ty services.

You will need:

  • Edu­ca­tion and Devel­op­ment Exper­tise: Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence and high-lev­el knowl­edge and skills in the area of prac­tice, includ­ing the devel­op­ment, imple­men­ta­tion and eval­u­a­tion of pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment, edu­ca­tion and train­ing activ­i­ties to a range of Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal staff includ­ing those in the clin­i­cal and non-clin­i­cal areas.
  • Lead­er­ship & Coor­di­na­tion Skills: Proven abil­i­ty to lead and coor­di­nate mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary teams, man­age edu­ca­tion­al ini­tia­tives, and sup­port work­force capa­bil­i­ty building.
  • Com­mu­ni­ca­tion & Adapt­abil­i­ty: High-lev­el com­mu­ni­ca­tion and inter­per­son­al skills, with the abil­i­ty to engage diverse teams and adapt to dynam­ic envi­ron­ments to achieve mean­ing­ful out­comes. Details of appointment:

Per­ma­nent, full time, day work­er posi­tion, work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as possible.

*notwith­stand­ing hours to be nego­ti­at­ed with the suc­cess­ful applicant.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary:

$114,851 to $121,886 per annum. Our Employ­er 12% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available:

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing up to $9,010 for liv­ing expens­es + $2,650 for meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible.

Region­al Allowances

  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,7er annum
  • 10% remote allowance

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria:

  • Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as a Reg­is­tered Nurse
  • Cur­rent Driver’s Licence – pro­vi­sion­al dri­ver or above
