Posi­tion Pro­file: The prime objec­tive is to triage and assess all patients pre­sent­ing to the Emer­gency Depart­ment, who may be con­sid­ered at risk or requir­ing a spe­cial­ist men­tal health assess­ment. Respon­si­ble for pro­vid­ing a spe­cialised clin­i­cal men­tal health con­sul­tan­cy ser­vice to the Emer­gency Depart­ment and oth­er areas of Hed­land Health Cam­pus, out­side of the oper­at­ing hours of the Com­mu­ni­ty Men­tal Health Service.

To be a strong can­di­date for this role, we are look­ing for:

  • Sig­nif­i­cant, rel­e­vant clin­i­cal in pro­vi­sion of men­tal health ser­vices in an acute adult men­tal health setting.
  • Demon­strat­ed advanced skills in the nurs­ing man­age­ment of com­plex psy­chi­atric pre­sen­ta­tions, risk assess­ment, cri­sis inter­ven­tion and man­age­ment of aggres­sion in a clin­i­cal setting.
  • Demon­strat­ed advanced writ­ten, ver­bal and inter­per­son­al com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills.
  • Demon­strat­ed abil­i­ty to under­take a lead­er­ship role with­in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team environment.
  • A work­ing knowl­edge of com­put­ers and infor­ma­tion sys­tems rel­e­vant to the position/​role.
