Assist the Nurse Unit Man­ag­er (NUM) and oth­er senior staff with the plan­ning and man­age­ment of staff and resources, and the coor­di­na­tion of day to day client care activ­i­ties and flow. Work in col­lab­o­ra­tion with the NUM and oth­er senior staff to ensure the effi­cient and effec­tive pro­vi­sion of pal­lia­tive care nurs­ing prac­tice based on con­tem­po­rary best prac­tice with­in a col­lab­o­ra­tive inter­dis­ci­pli­nary framework.

The Team:

The Spe­cial­ist Pal­lia­tive Care Ser­vice pro­vides con­sul­ta­tive, mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary sup­port to patients, car­ers, and clin­i­cians across both com­mu­ni­ty and inpa­tient set­tings in North West Tas­ma­nia. As part of a small, ded­i­cat­ed team, you’ll con­tribute to deliv­er­ing best-prac­tice care that pri­ori­tis­es dig­ni­ty, com­fort, and indi­vid­ual choice.

The Role:

  • As a Clin­i­cal Nurse Spe­cial­ist, you will work with the team in sup­port­ing home vis­its to patients and their fam­i­lies, assess­ing con­di­tions and needs for sup­ports and report­ing back to the spe­cial­ist team. 
  • Work­ing col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with the wider team, you will ensure time­ly response to requests for sup­port and assess response to interventions. 
  • This role requires excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion and doc­u­men­ta­tion skills to thrive.

Details of appointment:

Per­ma­nent, part time, day work­er posi­tion, work­ing up to 40 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing from 2 Feb­ru­ary 2026.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $106,570 to $112,440 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employ­er 12% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available:

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 10 % based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Ben­e­fits avail­able to eli­gi­ble candidates:

  • Trav­el and relo­ca­tion assis­tance sup­port avail­able up to $15,000 for eli­gi­ble appointees from over­seas, and up to $10,000 for appointees from interstate.
