About the role 

West­ern Dis­trict Health Ser­vice is seek­ing a moti­vat­ed and enthu­si­as­tic Dia­betes Edu­ca­tor who can pro­vide com­pre­hen­sive edu­ca­tion ser­vices in a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary environment.

The ide­al can­di­date will have expe­ri­ence and qual­i­fi­ca­tions in dia­betes edu­ca­tion and a pas­sion for pro­vid­ing com­pre­hen­sive care in both acute and community

set­tings. This role involves work­ing in acute and com­mu­ni­ty set­tings with Type 1 & 2 dia­betes and ges­ta­tion­al dia­betes. A cre­den­tialled Dia­betes Edu­ca­tor is pre­ferred, or an edu­ca­tor active­ly work­ing towards cre­den­tialling. The respon­si­bil­i­ties and duties of this role include iden­ti­fy­ing and imple­ment­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties for qual­i­ty improve­ment and ser­vice devel­op­ment to achieve a mul­ti-dis­ci­pli­nary approach to dia­betes management.

You will bring:

  • AHPRA reg­is­tra­tion
  • 5 years post grad experience
  • Strong clin­i­cal leadership
  • Ded­i­ca­tion to pro­fes­sion­al development
  • Advanced com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills

The suc­cess­ful can­di­date must have or obtain a Nation­al Crim­i­nal Police Check. Depend­ing on the role, a Work­ing with Chil­dren Check Clear­ance, Dis­abil­i­ty Work­er Exclu­sion Scheme check, and/​or NDIS Work­er Screen­ing Check may also be required. All employ­ees must com­ply with WDHS vac­ci­na­tion requirements.
