About The Team

This Exec­u­tive lev­el role is a key part of the Red Lily Pri­ma­ry Health Care lead­er­ship team, deliv­er­ing com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices across the West Arn­hem region. The posi­tion requires strate­gic think­ing and strong clin­i­cal lead­er­ship, with a focus on col­lab­o­ra­tion across Red Lily teams, local com­mu­ni­ties, and exter­nal part­ners to ensure the deliv­ery of high-qual­i­ty pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices and improved out­comes for the region.

You will work close­ly with the Direc­tor of Pri­ma­ry Health­care to imple­ment and sup­port the Red Lily pri­ma­ry health care ser­vice mod­el, ensur­ing align­ment with organ­i­sa­tion­al goals and com­mu­ni­ty needs.

About the Role

A key focus of the role includes pro­vid­ing the Exec­u­tive and the Board with advice on strate­gic plan­ning and imple­men­ta­tion of med­ical ser­vices. The DMS will share lead­er­ship of the Red Lily Health Clin­i­cal Gov­er­nance Frame­work includ­ing high lev­el sup­port to all Red Lily Health Clin­i­cians. The DMS leads the deliv­ery of med­ical ser­vices in the West Arn­hem communities.

Main Respon­si­bil­i­ties

  1. Over­see­ing com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care ser­vice deliv­ery and lead­ing a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team.
  2. Devel­op­ing and imple­ment­ing sys­tems for clin­i­cal care deliv­ery and work­force management.
  3. Pro­vid­ing med­ical advice and estab­lish­ing link­ages with oth­er health providers for opti­mum care coordination.
  4. Lead­ing clin­i­cal qual­i­ty, safe­ty ini­tia­tives, and con­tin­u­ous improve­ment efforts.
  5. Man­ag­ing and sup­port­ing the pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment of clin­i­cal staff.
  6. Enhanc­ing ser­vice access and income through Medicare billings and refer­ral path­ways optimisation.
  7. Main­tain­ing pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment and com­pli­ance with voca­tion­al reg­is­tra­tion requirements.
  8. Pro­mot­ing a cul­ture that respects and sup­ports Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander peo­ples’ health and wellbeing.

Please note: This role involves vis­it­ing remote com­mu­ni­ties on reg­u­lar basis.

Before you reach out and apply, we need you to have:

  • AHPRA Reg­is­tered as a Med­ical Practitioner
  • RACGP or FACRRM
  • Expe­ri­ence in lead­er­ship and coordination
  • Abil­i­ty to pro­vide clin­i­cal ser­vices across the remote areas with­in the West Arn­hem region
  • An under­stand­ing of and com­mit­ment to the prin­ci­ples of con­tin­u­ous qual­i­ty improvement
  • An under­stand­ing of how the prin­ci­ples of Equal Employ­ment Oppor­tu­ni­ty and Work Health and Safe­ty apply to the deliv­ery of pri­ma­ry health care services
  • Demon­strat­ed com­put­er lit­er­a­cy, par­tic­u­lar­ly in the use of elec­tron­ic health record
  • Abil­i­ty to trav­el to remote areas for peri­ods of time by road and light aircraft
  • NT Ochre card and Crim­i­nal His­to­ry Clearance
  • Full rights to work in Australia.

Desir­able: Pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence work­ing in a remote Indige­nous health context.
