We are looking for experienced and passionate Enrolled Nurses to join our team on beautiful Flinders Island who will deliver the greatest quality of care and will collaborate with members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Flinders Island Mul­ti-Pur­pose Cen­tre is seek­ing expe­ri­enced Enrolled Nurs­es to join our team. The facil­i­ty com­pris­es of an emergency/​outpatient ser­vice, five acute beds and an excep­tion­al aged care ser­vice with 9 aged care beds pro­vid­ing high, low and respite care. 

Flinders Island is based in the Bass Strait between Vic­to­ria and the north­east coast of Tas­ma­nia, with a pop­u­la­tion of approx­i­mate­ly 900 people.

The Role:

You will have:

  • excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion and inter­per­son­al skills
  • abil­i­ty to work inde­pen­dent­ly and as a mem­ber of our mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team
  • advanced assess­ment, prob­lem solv­ing and organ­i­sa­tion­al skills
  • pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence work­ing with the elder­ly and peo­ple with dementia

The Depart­ment of Health Tas­ma­nia over­sees var­i­ous hos­pi­tals across the state, includ­ing the Roy­al Hobart Hos­pi­tal, Launce­s­ton Gen­er­al Hos­pi­tal, North­west Region­al Hos­pi­tal, and Mersey Com­mu­ni­ty Hos­pi­tal, as well as dis­trict hos­pi­tals and ambu­lance ser­vices. Addi­tion­al­ly, it pro­vides com­mu­ni­ty health, men­tal health, and pri­ma­ry health­care ser­vices to the Tas­man­ian com­mu­ni­ty through more than 300 sites.

Details of appointment:

Mul­ti­ple per­ma­nent, full time/​part time, shift work­er (ful­ly rota­tion­al) posi­tions, work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing as soon as you can join our team.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum (Pro rata). Our Employ­er 12% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available: 

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Region­al Allowances:

  • Dis­trict Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family 
  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10%
