The Team:
Welcome to King Island Hospital and Health Centre! Our friendly team works closely together as part of the Department of Health to provide caring, high-quality support to our community. As an Enrolled nurse, you’ll play an important role in delivering a range of services — from acute, chronic, community care to emergency support — while being supported through training and teamwork. We’re all here to help make sure the people of King Island get the best care possible in a warm, respectful, and welcoming environment.
The Role:
The Enrolled Nurse provides direct patient/client centred nursing care to assigned patients/clients, within the scope of practice of an enrolled nurse and under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse/midwife to achieve planned patient outcomes.
You will:
- Provide patient care across both Residential Aged Care Facility and Rural Health Beds.
- Work effectively within a small, multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive care.
- Have excellent communication skills

Details of appointment:
Permanent full time, shift worker (fully rotational) position, working 76 hours per fortnight, commencing from a mutually agreed upon date.

Applicants should note that, for a period of twelve months from the date of publication, this selection process may be used to fill subsequent or similar full time, part time, and casual vacancies.
Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum. Our Employer 12% superannuation contribution is on top of this amount.
- Salary range is in accordance with Nurses and Midwives (Tasmania State Service) Agreement 2023.
Access to the Grade 4 salary range $99,455- $105,995 is subject to successful application for progression to Grade 4
In addition, the following allowances calculated on the salaried incremental point may be available:
- Post Graduate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qualification type
Salary Packaging:
You’ll have access to salary package a range of benefits including living expenses up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal entertainment each FBT year + other benefits if eligible.
Regional Allowances
- District Allowances of up to $4,618 per annum for a family
- Remote and Rural Professional Development Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an additional salary allowance of 10%

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as an Enrolled Nurse (holds a Board-approved qualification in administration of medicines)
