You will sup­port the Clin­i­cal Nurse Con­sul­tant (CNC) and Reg­is­tered Nurse (RN) to deliv­er high qual­i­ty care in patients home and in clin­ic set­tings with informed clin­i­cal prac­tice stan­dards. Your excel­lent com­mu­ni­ca­tion and inter­per­son­al skills will be essen­tial in build­ing strong work­ing rela­tion­ships with staff and the com­mu­ni­ty. Your abil­i­ty to inspire, influ­ence, and deliv­er clear mes­sages will help ensure cohe­sive team­work and high stan­dards of care. We offer a wide range of ser­vices to sup­port to the West Coast with the West Coast Dis­trict Hos­pi­tal in the near­by town of Queen­stown which has as 24-hour Emer­gency response unit and inpa­tient ward. Patients can main­tain their inde­pen­dence and receive pri­ma­ry health treat­ment in home. 

The West Coast also has vis­it­ing ser­vices such as Radi­ol­o­gy, Dia­bet­ic Clin­ics, Phys­io­ther­a­py, and Podi­a­try. Our com­mu­ni­ty ser­vices also include Com­mu­ni­ty Nurs­ing, Home Help/​Personal Care, and Home Main­te­nance. The Enrolled Nurse — Community:

  • Works under the direc­tion and super­vi­sion of a Reg­is­tered Nurse/​Midwife with­in the Com­mu­ni­ty setting 
  • Deliv­ers nurs­ing care as del­e­gat­ed by the Reg­is­tered Nurse, Clin­i­cal Nurse Con­sul­tant and Nurse Unit Manager 
  • Col­lab­o­rates with mem­bers of the health­care team to achieve effec­tive health­care outcomes.
  • Account­able for the stan­dard of nurs­ing care pro­vid­ed and acts to rec­ti­fy unsafe prac­tices and/​or unpro­fes­sion­al conduct.
  • Prac­tices in accor­dance with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia approved nation­al com­pe­ten­cy stan­dards for Enrolled Nurs­es, leg­is­la­tion, edu­ca­tion, expe­ri­ence and organ­i­sa­tion­al policy.
  • Where applic­a­ble, exer­cise del­e­ga­tions in accor­dance with a range of Acts, Reg­u­la­tions, Awards, admin­is­tra­tive author­i­ties and func­tion­al arrange­ments as man­dat­ed by Statu­to­ry office hold­ers includ­ing the Sec­re­tary and Head of State Ser­vice. The rel­e­vant Unit Man­ag­er can pro­vide details to the occu­pant of del­e­ga­tions applic­a­ble to this position. 
  • Com­ply at all times with pol­i­cy and pro­to­col require­ments, includ­ing those relat­ing to manda­to­ry edu­ca­tion, train­ing and assessment.

Details of appointment:

Per­ma­nent full time, day work­er not work­ing week­ends but work­ing pub­lic hol­i­days posi­tion, work­ing 76 hours per fort­night, com­menc­ing from a mutu­al­ly agreed upon date.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Salary: $70,980 to $78,179 per annum. Our Employ­er 12% super­an­nu­a­tion con­tri­bu­tion is on top of this amount.

  • Salary range is in accor­dance with Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023.

In addi­tion, the fol­low­ing allowances cal­cu­lat­ed on the salaried incre­men­tal point may be available:

  • Post Grad­u­ate Allowance of up to 7.5% based on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type 

Salary Pack­ag­ing:

You’ll have access to salary pack­age a range of ben­e­fits includ­ing liv­ing expens­es up to $9,010 + $2,650 in meal enter­tain­ment each FBT year + oth­er ben­e­fits if eligible. 

Region­al Allowances

  • Remote and Rur­al Pro­fes­sion­al Devel­op­ment Allowance of $3,699 per annum and an addi­tion­al salary allowance of 10%

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

  • Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia as an Enrolled Nurse
  • Cur­rent Dri­ver’s Licence
  • Work­ing with Chil­dren Reg­is­tra­tion (where applic­a­ble and as deter­mined by indi­vid­ual posi­tion requirements)
