Due to ongoing growth, we have multiple opportunities for General Practitioners to join our clinical team in Broome, with the flexibility to work on a full-time, part-time, or contract basis.

About Us

The Broome Region­al Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice (BRAMS) is an Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled Health Ser­vice that has proud­ly cared for the Broome com­mu­ni­ty for over 45 years. Estab­lished in 1978, BRAMS was the first remote Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice in West­ern Australia.

Today, we pro­vide com­pre­hen­sive, cul­tur­al­ly safe, and holis­tic pri­ma­ry health care, social and emo­tion­al well­be­ing ser­vices, and NDIS sup­port to more than 6,500 Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander peo­ple across the Broome region.

About the Role
Due to ongo­ing growth, we have mul­ti­ple oppor­tu­ni­ties for Gen­er­al Prac­ti­tion­ers to join our clin­i­cal team in Broome, with the flex­i­bil­i­ty to work on a full-time, part-time, or con­tract basis.

At BRAMS, our pri­ma­ry health­care roles are incred­i­bly diverse, with no two days the same. As part of a col­lab­o­ra­tive team, you will pro­vide com­pre­hen­sive health­care ser­vices to Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander clients and their families.

We pride our­selves on deliv­er­ing qual­i­ty evi­dence-based clin­i­cal care in a holis­tic and cul­tur­al­ly sen­si­tive way, both in the clin­ic and through var­i­ous out­reach pro­grams. With GP Reg­is­trars of all stages, Abo­rig­i­nal Health Work­ers, and Nurs­ing and med­ical stu­dents, we encour­age reg­u­lar teach­ing, edu­ca­tion ses­sions and training.

About You
This role would suit a pas­sion­ate and ded­i­cat­ed GP inter­est­ed in hav­ing a port­fo­lio-style career, who cares about peo­ple, is a team play­er, and desires to make a dif­fer­ence, how­ev­er big or small. 

You don’t need expe­ri­ence in rur­al or remote areas or to have worked with­in an ACCHO to apply for this role. How­ev­er, you will bring ded­i­ca­tion to improv­ing the health out­comes and well­be­ing of Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander people.

As such, you will pos­sess the fol­low­ing attributes:

  • Flex­i­bil­i­ty: adapt­able and accom­mo­dat­ing to the needs of your patients. 
  • Pas­sion: will­ing to go beyond just pro­vid­ing clin­i­cal care, bring­ing an under­stand­ing of social, cul­tur­al, and his­tor­i­cal fac­tors to your work. 
  • Solu­tions focused: take an active approach to find effec­tive solu­tions with the abil­i­ty to make deci­sions based on dif­fer­ent patients and their circumstances.

About the Benefits

You will enjoy a high­ly attrac­tive pack­age from $245,000 – $275,000 (com­men­su­rate with your skills
and expe­ri­ence) plus super and gen­er­ous salary packaging.

Addi­tion­al ben­e­fits include:

  • Annu­al Remote Loca­tion Allowance of $2,500;
  • Six weeks of annu­al leave;
  • 17.5% leave load­ing on up to six weeks of annu­al leave;
  • Accom­mo­da­tion assis­tance via third-par­ty lease on the prop­er­ty of your choice;
  • Relo­ca­tion assis­tance avail­able to help you make Broome your new home;

  • Flex­i­ble work­ing arrange­ments: these roles are avail­able on a per­ma­nent, part-time or con­tract basis by negotiation.
