As the sole health pro­fes­sion­al onsite, you will work col­lab­o­ra­tive­ly with the Remote Out­reach Con­sul­tant Cen­tre and Med­ical Retrieval and Con­sul­ta­tion Cen­tre to meet the health needs of per­sons detained in the police watch house, pro­vid­ing police pro­fes­sion­als with advice on the man­age­ment of per­sons in custody. 

You will have exten­sive clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence work­ing in pro­fes­sion­al iso­la­tion (e.g. remote area nurs­ing includ­ing emer­gency nurs­ing, cus­to­di­al care nurs­ing) to effec­tive­ly triage, man­age and mon­i­tor acute and chron­ic health needs of per­sons detained in the police watch house, ensur­ing all per­sons are ​‘Fit for Custody’. 

The suc­cess­ful appli­cant must have cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion with Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia (or eli­gi­ble for same), a North­ern Ter­ri­to­ry Dri­vers license and meet the Police, Fire and Emer­gency Ser­vices secu­ri­ty clear­ance requirements.
