Within a primary health framework and in accordance with Agency policy and procedures, the Nurse Practitioner - Wound Care is responsible for high level clinical leadership in the development, provision and evaluation of service that ensures optimal patient/client/family and community outcomes.

The Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er — Wound Care is respon­si­ble for eval­u­at­ing and imple­ment­ing changes to clin­i­cal prac­tice, ini­ti­at­ing research, edu­ca­tion and qual­i­ty improve­ment activ­i­ties and will act as a leader, advi­sor and men­tor for oth­er nurs­es and clin­i­cians to ensure high lev­el clin­i­cal excel­lence in the prac­tice area.

Join our ded­i­cat­ed health­care team as a Full Time Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er spe­cial­is­ing in Wound Care with­in our Pri­ma­ry Care Team based in the North West, this posi­tion offers the chance to make a mean­ing­ful dif­fer­ence in patients’ lives while advanc­ing your exper­tise in spe­cialised wound management.

We’re seek­ing a com­pas­sion­ate health­care pro­fes­sion­al who thrives in col­lab­o­ra­tive envi­ron­ments and is com­mit­ted to deliv­er­ing evi­dence-based wound care solu­tions. You’ll work along­side expe­ri­enced clin­i­cians in mod­ern facil­i­ties, sup­port­ing patients across diverse com­mu­ni­ties through­out the North West region.

What You’ll Do:

  • Assess, diag­nose, and devel­op com­pre­hen­sive treat­ment plans for com­plex wound conditions
  • Col­lab­o­rate with mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary teams to ensure coor­di­nat­ed patient care
  • Edu­cate patients and fam­i­lies on wound pre­ven­tion and self-man­age­ment strategies
  • Main­tain accu­rate clin­i­cal doc­u­men­ta­tion and par­tic­i­pate in qual­i­ty improve­ment initiatives
  • Men­tor junior staff and con­tribute to pro­fes­sion­al devel­op­ment programs

  • Cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion as a Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er with rel­e­vant wound care qualifications
  • Demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence in wound assess­ment and advanced treat­ment modalities
  • Strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills and abil­i­ty to work effec­tive­ly with diverse patient populations
  • Com­mit­ment to con­tin­u­ous learn­ing and stay­ing cur­rent with best prac­tice guidelines

Details of appointment:

We are offer­ing a per­ma­nent, full-time Reg­is­tered Nurse posi­tion (day work­er), work­ing up to 76 hours per fort­night. Flex­i­ble work­ing hours may be nego­ti­at­ed with the suc­cess­ful applicant.

Appli­cants should note that, for a peri­od of twelve months from the date of pub­li­ca­tion, this selec­tion process may be used to fill sub­se­quent or sim­i­lar full time, part time, and casu­al vacancies.

Key Appoint­ment Details

  • Salary: $144,146 per annum
  • Super­an­nu­a­tion: 12% employ­er con­tri­bu­tion (in addi­tion to salary)
  • Agree­ment: In accor­dance with the Nurs­es and Mid­wives (Tas­ma­nia State Ser­vice) Agree­ment 2023

  • Post-Grad­u­ate Allowance: Up to 7.5% depend­ing on qual­i­fi­ca­tion type

Eli­gi­bil­i­ty:

Suc­cess­ful appli­cants will be required to meet the essen­tial criteria:

  • Reg­is­tered with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia and endorsed to prac­tice as a Nurse Practitioner
  • Reg­is­tra­tion to work with Vul­ner­a­ble People
