This is a recruitment pool for Permanent Full Time, Permanent Part Time, Fixed Term Full Time, Fixed Term Part Time and Casual appointments. Fixed Term appointments will be made with the possibility of extension(s) and/or permanency. We have several vacancies to fill across multiple departments such as Paediatrics, Cancer Services, Emergency, General Ward and Remote Clinics.

To be suc­cess­ful, you will have…

  • Demon­strat­ed exten­sive pro­fes­sion­al expe­ri­ence rel­e­vant to the role includ­ing an abil­i­ty to work effec­tive­ly as a sole prac­ti­tion­er in a remote, mul­ti­cul­tur­al environment. 
  • Demon­strat­ed broad nurs­ing expe­ri­ence with recent acci­dent and emer­gency skills. 
  • Strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion, prob­lem-solv­ing, and ana­lyt­i­cal skills, with proven abil­i­ty to engage effec­tive­ly, nego­ti­ate, and resolve com­plex issues. 
  • Demon­strat­ed knowl­edge, under­stand­ing of the prin­ci­ples of Pri­ma­ry Health Care and Community. 
  • Demon­strat­ed knowl­edge, under­stand­ing and expe­ri­ence in Qual­i­ty Improve­ment, its prac­ti­cal appli­ca­tion in meet­ing patients’ needs and its rela­tion­ship to strate­gic development.

Posi­tion Pro­file:
To work as a mem­ber of a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team with­in a pri­ma­ry health care frame­work and phi­los­o­phy in part­ner­ship with the Com­mu­ni­ty and oth­er organ­i­sa­tion. To pro­vide con­tin­u­ous,
coor­di­nat­ed and com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care of advanced clin­i­cal lev­el to fam­i­lies and indi­vid­u­als of that community.

Area Pro­file
WACHS Kim­ber­ley is the most north­ern health region of WACHS. The Kim­ber­ley region has approx­i­mate­ly 200 Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ties, over 34 dif­fer­ent Abo­rig­i­nal lan­guage groups and
45 per­cent of the pop­u­la­tion are Abo­rig­i­nal and/​or Tor­res Strait Islander peo­ple. WACH­SKim­ber­ley con­sists of six hos­pi­tals, an inpa­tient men­tal health unit, three Com­mu­ni­ty Direc­torates and a Cor­po­rate Office. WACHS Kim­ber­ley pro­vides hos­pi­tal, com­mu­ni­ty health, pub­lic health, remote area health, com­mu­ni­ty aged care, and men­tal health ser­vices across the region through a ded­i­cat­ed team of med­ical, nurs­ing, Abo­rig­i­nal health, allied health, and sup­port staff.
