This key leadership role reports to the Community Services Executive Manager and is responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary teams across aged care, disability, and mental health programs under BRAMS’ Psychosocial Services portfolio.

About BRAMS

Found­ed in 1978, Broome Region­al Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice (BRAMS) was the first remote Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice estab­lished in West­ern Aus­tralia. As an Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty-con­trolled health ser­vice, BRAMS has proud­ly sup­port­ed the Broome com­mu­ni­ty for over 40 years through holis­tic, cul­tur­al­ly respon­sive healthcare.

Deliv­er­ing over 40,000 occa­sions of ser­vice annu­al­ly, BRAMS pro­vides a broad range of pro­grams includ­ing pri­ma­ry health care, social and emo­tion­al well­be­ing ser­vices, and NDIS sup­port. Guid­ed by the core prin­ci­ples of Abo­rig­i­nal self-deter­mi­na­tion, access, and empow­er­ment, BRAMS con­tin­ues to lead the way in com­mu­ni­ty-focused health­care deliv­ery across the Kimberley.

About the Opportunities

BRAMS is look­ing for a full-time Psy­choso­cial Man­ag­er based in Broome, WA.

This key lead­er­ship role reports to the Com­mu­ni­ty Ser­vices Exec­u­tive Man­ag­er and is respon­si­ble for over­see­ing mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary teams across aged care, dis­abil­i­ty, and men­tal health pro­grams under BRAMS’ Psy­choso­cial Ser­vices portfolio.

More specif­i­cal­ly, your respon­si­bil­i­ties include but are not lim­it­ed to:

  • Coor­di­nat­ing aged care, dis­abil­i­ty, men­tal health, and SEWB ser­vices across case­work­ers, coor­di­na­tors, and social workers
  • Lead­ing and inspir­ing a diverse mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team across sev­er­al pro­gram streams
  • Embed­ding BRAMS’ Mod­el of Care and Qual­i­ty Care Frame­work into team operations
  • Pro­mot­ing per­son-cen­tred case man­age­ment and com­pli­ance in care plans and assessments
  • Dri­ving per­for­mance track­ing, con­tin­u­ous improve­ment, and pro­fes­sion­al development
  • Facil­i­tat­ing health pro­mo­tion, com­mu­ni­ty engage­ment, and team devel­op­ment initiatives
  • Ensur­ing safe, cul­tur­al­ly respect­ful, and val­ues-aligned ser­vice deliv­ery across all touchpoints

About You

To qual­i­fy, you will need a ter­tiary qual­i­fi­ca­tion in Social Work, Psy­chol­o­gy, or Men­tal Health, along with 2 – 3 years of demon­strat­ed lead­er­ship expe­ri­ence in a rel­e­vant health or social ser­vices field. Expe­ri­ence in an Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice is high­ly desirable.

Addi­tion­al­ly, the fol­low­ing skills and back­ground will be high­ly valued:

  • Aged care, dis­abil­i­ty, or NDIS ser­vice deliv­ery experience
  • Under­stand­ing of the Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice Mod­el of Care
  • Expe­ri­ence man­ag­ing diverse, mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary teams
  • Strong inter­per­son­al, writ­ten, and cross-cul­tur­al com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills
  • Abil­i­ty to adapt, think crit­i­cal­ly, and dri­ve strate­gic outcomes
  • Account­abil­i­ty and finan­cial aware­ness in ser­vice deliv­ery settings

As our ide­al can­di­date, you will pos­sess adapt­abil­i­ty, strong lead­er­ship skills, solu­tion focus, and a dri­ve to grow ser­vices in line with com­mu­ni­ty needs. You will demon­strate ini­tia­tive and cre­ativ­i­ty in shap­ing the future of psy­choso­cial sup­port at BRAMS.

This is a piv­otal lead­er­ship oppor­tu­ni­ty for some­one who wants to have both strate­gic and day-to-day impact with­in an Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled Organisation.
