Miwatj Health Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion are seek­ing a Region­al Clin­i­cal Edu­ca­tor to plan, coor­di­nate, facil­i­tate, eval­u­ate and sup­port Miwatj Health’s clin­i­cal learn­ing and clin­i­cal work­force devel­op­ment ini­tia­tives and activ­i­ties for Nurs­es, Mid­wives and Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­ers includ­ing trainees. The role will deliv­er train­ing in the con­text of rur­al and iso­lat­ed practice.

This is a full time, per­ma­nent role based in Dar­win or Nhu­lun­buy with reg­u­lar trav­el to East Arn­hem Region.

Estab­lished in 1992, we’re com­mit­ted to pro­vid­ing qual­i­ty ser­vices across East Arn­hem Land and enabling Yolŋu pow­ered com­mu­ni­ty health and well­be­ing. Miwatj pro­vides cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate, com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry and pub­lic health for over 6,000 res­i­dents of this remote land­scape. With a Head Office in Nhu­lunb uy, and a Cor­po­rate Office in Dar­win, our deliv­ery is focused on 7 health cen­tres across East Arn­hem Land and ded­i­cat­ed out­reach teams who trav­el to addi­tion­al locations.

What we’re look­ing for in you!

The ide­al can­di­date will demon­strate a strong com­mit­ment to Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trol and self-deter­mi­na­tion, with a deep under­stand­ing of the chal­lenges faced by Yol­ngu peo­ple in remote set­tings. Can­di­dates should holds cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion with the Aus­tralian Health Prac­ti­tion­er Reg­u­la­tion Agency (AHPRA) with at least 5 years clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence. They should have expe­ri­ence as a Clin­i­cal Edu­ca­tor, edu­ca­tor and / or in the plan­ning, coor­di­na­tion, facil­i­ta­tion and sup­port of work­force learn­ing and devel­op­ment ini­tia­tives, activ­i­ties and strategies.
