About us

The Red Lily Health Board Abo­rig­i­nal Cor­po­ra­tion (RLHB) is a region­al health ser­vice that aims to empow­er Abo­rig­i­nal peo­ple in the West Arn­hem region. We are seek­ing to address health issues in the com­mu­ni­ty with the long-term vision of improv­ing health out­comes by estab­lish­ing a region­al Abo­rig­i­nal com­mu­ni­ty-con­trolled mod­el of ser­vice delivery.

About Jabiru

You will find Jabiru 255kms east of Dar­win. The town­ship is sur­round­ed by Kakadu Nation­al Park boast­ing wet­lands, bill­abongs, and wildlife. You can enjoy your time off explor­ing the region, fish­ing in the water­ways, cool­ing off in the swim­ming pool or tak­ing part in the community’s many sport­ing activ­i­ties. The brand-new mod­ern health clin­ic opened in Sep­tem­ber 2024.

About the Team

The posi­tion will be part of the Red Lily Clin­i­cal Ser­vices team that pro­vides pri­ma­ry health care in the West Arn­hem region (includ­ing home­lands). Coor­di­na­tion with oth­er com­mu­ni­ties and teams with­in Red Lily and beyond will be nec­es­sary to ensure that the com­mu­ni­ties receive high qual­i­ty ser­vices and achieve opti­mal outcomes.

About the Role

You will be respon­si­ble for pro­vid­ing high qual­i­ty and cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate pri­ma­ry health­care to the good peo­ple of Jabiru and home­lands, includ­ing vis­i­tors. This posi­tion requires an under­stand­ing of issues affect­ing Abo­rig­i­nal health, prin­ci­ples of Pri­ma­ry Health Care and rel­e­vant leg­is­la­tion gov­ern­ing work prac­tices in a remote health setting.

You will be part of a team that includes Health Cen­tre Man­ag­er, GP, Remote Area Nurs­es, Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­ers and admin­is­tra­tion staff work­ing along­side com­mu­ni­ty engage­ment work­ers, as well as a wide range of out­reach spe­cial­ists and ser­vice providers. The posi­tion will be sup­port­ed by an expe­ri­enced remote lead­er­ship team report­ing to the Direc­tor of Pri­ma­ry Healthcare.

About You

  1. Cur­rent reg­is­tra­tion with AHPRA
  2. Expe­ri­ence in remote area set­ting in Aus­tralia
  3. Proven clin­i­cal expe­ri­ence and adaptability
  4. Strong com­mu­ni­ca­tion and team­work skills
  5. A com­mit­ment to ongo­ing pro­fes­sion­al development
  6. Ready to trav­el to remote com­mu­ni­ties by air and 4WD,
  7. Par­tic­i­pate in a 24-hour on-call roster.
