An excit­ing oppor­tu­ni­ty exists to join our remote area nurs­ing team in Ood­na­dat­ta. Enjoy the South Aus­tralian out­back lifestyle in a close-knit com­mu­ni­ty serv­ing locals, sur­round­ing cat­tle sta­tions, and tourists trav­el­ling along the icon­ic Ood­na­dat­ta Track. Expe­ri­ence the famous Pink Road­house, stun­ning desert views, and the warmth of a his­toric town on the old Ghan rail­way line.

We are seek­ing a skilled and com­pas­sion­ate Remote Area Reg­is­tered Nurse to pro­vide com­pre­hen­sive, cul­tur­al­ly safe health­care to the Ood­na­dat­ta com­mu­ni­ty. You will man­age the day-to-day oper­a­tions of the local clin­ic and deliv­er emer­gency care after hours and on week­ends as required.

Work­ing as part of a small, ded­i­cat­ed team — includ­ing anoth­er Reg­is­tered Nurse and an Abo­rig­i­nal Health Work­er — and in part­ner­ship with the Roy­al Fly­ing Doc­tor Ser­vice, Dun­ji­ba Coun­cil, and Ood­na­dat­ta Abo­rig­i­nal School, you will play a vital role in sup­port­ing health out­comes and well­be­ing across this unique and remote region.

What We’re Look­ing For:

  • Reg­is­tered or eli­gi­ble for reg­is­tra­tion as a Nurse with the Nurs­ing and Mid­wifery Board of Aus­tralia, hold­ing (or eli­gi­ble to hold) a cur­rent prac­tis­ing certificate.
  • Min­i­mum of 3 years (full-time equiv­a­lent) post-reg­is­tra­tion experience.
  • Demon­strat­ed com­pe­tence in the rel­e­vant area of nurs­ing and/​or mid­wifery prac­tice in accor­dance with pro­fes­sion­al standards.
  • Expe­ri­ence in man­age­ment and lead­er­ship roles.
  • Expe­ri­ence super­vis­ing stu­dents, Enrolled Nurs­es, Abo­rig­i­nal Health Workers/​Practitioners, and less expe­ri­enced Reg­is­tered Nurs­es and/​or Midwives.
