Reporting to the Director of Clinical Services, the Remote Services Manager is responsible for leading the delivery of high-quality, culturally appropriate primary health care services across PAMS’ remote clinics.

About the Opportunity

Report­ing to the Direc­tor of Clin­i­cal Ser­vices, the Remote Ser­vices Man­ag­er is respon­si­ble for lead­ing the deliv­ery of high-qual­i­ty, cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices across PAMS’ remote clin­ics.
This piv­otal lead­er­ship role involves clin­i­cal over­sight, oper­a­tional man­age­ment, staff devel­op­ment, and ensur­ing com­pli­ance with rel­e­vant stan­dards, leg­is­la­tion, and accred­i­ta­tion require­ments (includ­ing AGPAL).

You will trav­el fre­quent­ly to our remote clin­ic loca­tions, fos­ter­ing a strong on-the-ground pres­ence and main­tain­ing trust­ed rela­tion­ships with the com­mu­ni­ties we serve.

About You

To be con­sid­ered for this posi­tion, you must have: 

  • Reg­is­tered Nurse, Mid­wife or Nurse Prac­ti­tion­er with AHPRA registration. 
  • Min­i­mum 5 years’ expe­ri­ence in com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care with strong clin­i­cal
    lead­er­ship.
  • Pre­vi­ous man­age­ment expe­ri­ence with demon­strat­ed expe­ri­ence man­ag­ing mul­ti-
    dis­ci­pli­nary teams across diverse geo­graph­i­cal areas. 
  • Sound under­stand­ing of Abo­rig­i­nal health and cul­tur­al issues. 
  • Skilled in con­tin­u­ous qual­i­ty improve­ment, accred­i­ta­tion, Medicare opti­mi­sa­tion, and data reporting. 
  • High-lev­el writ­ten and ver­bal com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills with con­flict man­age­ment capability. 
  • Pro­fi­cient in the use of health man­age­ment sys­tems (prefer­ably Com­mu­ni­care) and Microsoft Office. 
  • Abil­i­ty and will­ing­ness to trav­el to remote loca­tions via 4WD and light aircraft. 
  • Cur­rent WA Work­ing with Chil­dren Check, Nation­al Police Clear­ance, and a valid man­u­al driver’s licence.

Desirable — 

  • Iden­ti­fies as Abo­rig­i­nal and/​or Tor­res Strait Islander. 
  • Pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence as a Remote Area Nurse (RAN)
  • Addi­tion­al qual­i­fi­ca­tions in lead­er­ship, chron­ic dis­ease man­age­ment, men­tal health, child health, or oth­er rel­e­vant fields. 
  • Pre­vi­ous expe­ri­ence work­ing in or with remote Abo­rig­i­nal communities. 

The posi­tion involves work­ing with a mul­ti­cul­tur­al organ­i­sa­tion where the major­i­ty of staff, clients and stake­hold­ers iden­ti­fy as Abo­rig­i­nal or Tor­res Strait Islander. Can­di­dates must be able to demon­strate an under­stand­ing of the issues affect­ing Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander peo­ple and their abil­i­ty to com­mu­ni­cate sen­si­tive­ly and effec­tive­ly with Abo­rig­i­nal and Tor­res Strait Islander peo­ple.

About the Organ­i­sa­tion

Pun­tukur­nu Abo­rig­i­nal Med­ical Ser­vice (PAMS) is an Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Con­trolled Health Organ­i­sa­tion ded­i­cat­ed to pro­vid­ing cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate and com­pre­hen­sive pri­ma­ry health care ser­vices to the remote com­mu­ni­ties of Jiga­long, Pun­mu, Parn­ngurr, and Kunawar­ritji in the East Pil­bara region of West­ern Australia.
