The Role
As the Senior Health Pro­mo­tion, Plan­ning and Eval­u­a­tion Offi­cer
you will plan, imple­ment, and facil­i­tate health pro­mo­tion activ­i­ties and pro­grams with­in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary team. You’ll be work­ing as part of the out­reach team to improve the health and well­be­ing of peo­ple liv­ing in remote com­mu­ni­ties and will trav­el to remote com­mu­ni­ties through­out the Cen­tral Aus­tralian and Bark­ly regions by light air­craft and 4WD vehi­cle for up to one week at a time.

Your respon­si­bil­i­ties will include devel­op­ing pro­grams and resources, sup­port­ing research and data col­lec­tion, and pro­mot­ing con­tin­u­ous qual­i­ty improve­ment. You’ll also ensure coor­di­na­tion of health pro­mo­tion efforts and com­pli­ance with ser­vice qual­i­ty and Work­place Health and Safe­ty stan­dards to main­tain high-qual­i­ty, safe health­care services.

About you
To be suc­cess­ful in this role you will have:

  • Com­pre­hen­sive under­stand­ing of cur­rent pub­lic health approach­es to deliv­er pro­grams, includ­ing pri­ma­ry health, com­mu­ni­ty devel­op­ment and health pro­mo­tion, and how these relate to the NT
  • Knowl­edge and under­stand­ing of the social deter­mi­nants of health and their impact on tar­get populations.
  • Expe­ri­ence in imple­ment­ing inte­grat­ed and coor­di­nat­ed approach­es to health pro­mo­tion plan­ning and evaluation.
  • Proven strong writ­ten and oral com­mu­ni­ca­tion skills includ­ing the use of infor­ma­tion technology.
  • An abil­i­ty to inter­act effec­tive­ly with peo­ple of diverse cultures.
