If you want your career to go places then join Top End Health Services within the Northern Territory on our Transition to Practice Program. Be supported on your journey to becoming a skilled and competent Remote Area Nurse. Top End Health Services provides comprehensive Primary Health Care to communities throughout the Top End of the NT. The Primary Health Care teams range in size from 2 to 14 nurses and midwives, working alongside Aboriginal Health Practitioners, Aboriginal Community Workers and Rural Medical Practitioners. Services are provided with support from visiting Specialists, Allied Health Professionals, Public Health Nurses and Medical Specialists.
In the Territory we offer more than just a job out bush. We offer the opportunity for you to work in partnership with the community to achieve health outcomes. Opportunities are available for nurses with a minimum of 3 years post graduate broad based nursing experience to join our 12 month Transition to Remote Nursing Program. Successful candidates will be employed for a period of 12 months at the N3 level and on completion will be able to apply for vacancies at N4 level.
All applicants must have a genuine interest in Aboriginal Health with a focus on Primary Health Care and be willing to relocate to an Aboriginal Community in the Top End for a period of 12 months. They will be highly motivated, mature, flexible and adaptable, and possess relevant qualifications.
You will be living on a remote community and working within a multidisciplinary health team providing primary health care and emergency services in a culturally appropriate manner to meet the needs of clients and their families. Services are provided within a clinical governance framework and there are fantastic learning opportunities in all aspects of service delivery.
