Be sup­port­ed on your jour­ney to becom­ing a skilled and com­pe­tent Remote Area Nurse. Top End Health Ser­vices pro­vides com­pre­hen­sive Pri­ma­ry Health Care to com­mu­ni­ties through­out the Top End of the NT. The Pri­ma­ry Health Care teams range in size from 2 to 14 nurs­es and mid­wives, work­ing along­side Abo­rig­i­nal Health Prac­ti­tion­ers, Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty Work­ers and Rur­al Med­ical Prac­ti­tion­ers. Ser­vices are pro­vid­ed with sup­port from vis­it­ing Spe­cial­ists, Allied Health Pro­fes­sion­als, Pub­lic Health Nurs­es and Med­ical Specialists.

In the Ter­ri­to­ry we offer more than just a job out bush. We offer the oppor­tu­ni­ty for you to work in part­ner­ship with the com­mu­ni­ty to achieve health out­comes. Oppor­tu­ni­ties are avail­able for nurs­es with a min­i­mum of 3 years post grad­u­ate broad based nurs­ing expe­ri­ence to join our 12 month Tran­si­tion to Remote Nurs­ing Pro­gram. Suc­cess­ful can­di­dates will be employed for a peri­od of 12 months at the N3 lev­el and on com­ple­tion will be able to apply for vacan­cies at N4 level.

All appli­cants must have a gen­uine inter­est in Abo­rig­i­nal Health with a focus on Pri­ma­ry Health Care and be will­ing to relo­cate to an Abo­rig­i­nal Com­mu­ni­ty in the Top End for a peri­od of 12 months. They will be high­ly moti­vat­ed, mature, flex­i­ble and adapt­able, and pos­sess rel­e­vant qualifications.

You will be liv­ing on a remote com­mu­ni­ty and work­ing with­in a mul­ti­dis­ci­pli­nary health team pro­vid­ing pri­ma­ry health care and emer­gency ser­vices in a cul­tur­al­ly appro­pri­ate man­ner to meet the needs of clients and their fam­i­lies. Ser­vices are pro­vid­ed with­in a clin­i­cal gov­er­nance frame­work and there are fan­tas­tic learn­ing oppor­tu­ni­ties in all aspects of ser­vice delivery.
