Triage Emergency Care - Online
The CRANAplus Triage Emergency Care course is based on the Emergency Triage Education Kit (ETEK) with a focus on application for rural, remote and isolated settings. Designed for nurses (including practice nurses) and GPs but open to a variety of health care professionals, the course upskills the rural triage practitioner to confidently assess patients and apply the Australasian Triage Scale to allocate an appropriate triage category.

TEC online delivers the same content from our traditional face-to-face course but allows you to engage from the comfort of home or work, immerse yourself in the content, engage with other practitioners and ask questions over an 8 week period.

The course is designed to meet the learning needs of the remote and rural health workforce, especially nurses and rural general practitioners who may be required to perform triage.

The TEC online course is delivered 100% online over a period of 8 weeks, delivering the same content as our traditional courses but using a combination of:
- Self-directed online learning and activities
- Online discussion boards
- 3 live online tutorials
Please note that components of the course must be completed to receive the TEC certificate, including attendance at all three live online tutorials
- On successful completion of this course, clinicians will be able to:

- Demonstrate the principles of triage assessment techniques using a primary survey approach.
- Demonstrate an understanding of the Australasian Triage Scale and its implementation in the workplace.
- Give consideration to safety and communication when undertaking triage
- Develop an understanding of the medico-legal aspects of triage.
- Develop an understanding of the unique differences between urban and rural triage practices.
- On successful completion participants will be awarded:

- A CRANAplus Triage Emergency Care Course certificate (Valid for 2 years)
- Three online zoom sessions

Our new online TEC course is delivered 100% online over a period of 8 weeks. It consists of five self-directed online learning modules, three online Zoom sessions, and an online discussion board for activities and reflection between Zoom sessions.
Attendance at all three online Zoom sessions is compulsory and required for successful completion of the course.
